Why Pancakes?

Just imagine the joy of making the fluffiest, yummiest buttermilk pancakes from scratch!

Unfortunately that wasn't happening for me because all the things that needed to happen to make pancakes fluffy were exactly the things I wasn’t doing!

Because how is buttermilk not butter and milk? And why would I ever leave clumps in my batter?

On Saturdays We Make Pancakes started as a personal challenge to make fluffy pancakes that has evolved into a weekend tradition that brings this deliciously grounding slowness and so much joy into my home!

On the mornings I can pull them away from Roblox, it's usually me and my girls making pancakes. I remember growing up and watching my mom bake and how I would get to mix the butter and sugar and I guess this is my version of that.

But not gonna lie, I do love making pancakes solo, there's something so meditative about it for me and it gives me an outlet that I can shut my mind off and channel my creativity into that doesn't feel like work.
